1-ounce glass atomizers of 100% pure & plant-based fragrance in an alcohol base.
A sensual floriental softened with black tea and vanilla. Don't let the name fool you -- this perfume is a class act.
The short story: This natural fragrance is made with organic and fair trade Assam Banaspaty Estate loose leaf tea, brewed in fractionated coconut oil and left to infuse for weeks in my studio to develop its silky, rich character. This particular Assam was selected for its olfactory profile, described as "malty and full-bodied with complex, fruity aromas". I add to my infusion Rosa Damascena, cardamom, and other essential oils to complete the scent.
The long story: The original No. 69 was created by the vapors of my favorite loose leaf tea, produced by Portland based Tea Chai Te'. I experienced Vanilla Rose Chai No. 69 for the first time while sitting in an overstuffed chair upholstered with chartreuse velour. I was in the tea house's red caboose in Sellwood, a small Southeast Portland neighborhood on the verge of exploding. Rain was dumping on the city and *all* I could think about was getting a mug of something spicy to warm me up and dry me out.
No. 69 did the trick and then some. Its aromatic vapor was beautifully smooth, and it greeted my nose softly with an unpretentious elegance. Something about it was familiar, like a beloved friend or sweet cousin you don't see often enough. I loved my cup so much that I purchased the 2.5-ounce tin for myself (for "perfume research"), and a second one as a birthday gift for a friend.
No. 69 is is a must-try for any chai (or rose... or vanilla... or cardamom) enthusiast.
Please note that I don't offer exchanges or refunds, so you may want to purchase a trial size first to be sure you like this fragrance!
