Golden Leaf is a spicy and gourmand stroll through Eugene’s avant garde Whiteaker neighborhood. This arts district is home to breweries, distilleries, coffee roasters, farmers’ and artists’ markets, barcades, and music venues that coalesce into a cultural hub that has brought bohemian flavor to Oregon’s Southern Willamette Valley.

It’s a nod to shorter, cooler, overcast days; browsing in old bookstores; playing pinball with friends while listening to Tom Waits; catching whiffs of the deliciously rich scent of decaying leaves on a sidewalk; wrapping your fingers around a warm spiced drink. No judgment here whether your preferred poison is a PSL or an Irish coffee. Lots of people have memories of “the Whit” including block parties, BINGO at Sam Bond’s Garage, burgers and whiskey at cowboy-themed Meiji’s Izakaya, and standing in line for 30+ minutes for dessert at Sweet Life Bakery (worth it!).
